USPSTF- Unhealthy Alcohol Use in Adolescents and Adults: Screening and Behavioral Counseling Interventions

Use this resource to discover and learn about the USPSTF recommendation to use SBI for alcohol use in adults, in addition to the supporting research and literature. The recommendation (B grade) by USPSTF is to screen for unhealthy alcohol use in primary care settings in adults 18+ including pregnant women, and to provide people engaged in risky drinking with brief behavioral counseling interventions to reduce unhealthy alcohol use. The findings for adolescents are incomplete.
