MASBIRT TTA works with individuals and organizations across Massachusetts to enhance skills, and develop implementation protocols and best practice for screening and collaborative conversations about substance use. Exploring impacts of substance use and what motivates change sets the course for our training and technical assistance (TA).
Types of training & TA
Organizations have different levels of substance use knowledge and skills. We partner with organizations to figure out their starting point and how to achieve their goals.

Our process
Engaging in training and TA will guide organizations through a series of meetings to establish a goal, assess needs, work toward process development and facilitate skill development with appropriate groups.
Activities include:
- facilitating a determination of need call
- assist in developing a training plan consisting of trainings available through BSAS Careers of Substance
- conducting planning and/or taskforce meetings with decision-makers and staff
- implementing TA sessions for skill development among change makers
- delivering training for skills development and practice
- developing materials to support delivery of services
- facilitating learning opportunities for advanced skill development

MASBIRT TTA’s Learning Management System (LMS) has on demand access to specific skills training. Offerings can be accessed on demand or in combination with live training offerings.
